Nick Davies wins the Ten-80 WWA Wake Park Nationals and 2nd Stop of the WWA Wake Park Series at OWC presented by Three:

It was a hot weekend on and off the water at the Orlando Watersports Complex as the Ten-80 WWA Wake Park National Championships and 2nd stop of the WWA Wake Park World Series came to a wrap. Nick Davies (UK), , Reed Hansen (USA) and Maxine Sapulette (NETH) would all repeat their performances from the first stop of the WWA Wake Park Series at CWC in March winning the Pro Men, Pro Wakeskate, and Pro Women divisions respectively.

Saturday brought out all the crowds with the Amateur divisions riding in the morning and the park open to the public until 2pm when the Pros hit the water. The Quarter and Semi Finals saw some great performances from all the top riders in the sport.

Despite the shaky weather, we saw some good performances and moved on to the 8PM start for the Obstacles Only division. Riders took to the water in a 10 minute jam format with 4 riders on the water all at once. As it’s typically one of the highlights, the Obstacles Only division went off as top rail riders such as Mark Rossiter (UK), Tom Fooshee (USA), Mitch Langfield (AUSTRALIA) and Bernhard Hinterberger (GER) battled it out for a spot in the finals. The top 8 riders were chosen to move on to Sunday.

Keith Lidberg (USA) Dominates Red Bull Wake The Line

The season opening for European Wakeboarding couldn’t have been better. More than 7000 spectators saw incredible Wakeboard action on a whole new level by top riders from all over the world at Red Bull Wake The Line.

The obstacle setup built by UNIT Parktech included a massive quarterpipe at the end of the run, offering space for tricks never seen before in wakeboarding. Towed by Sesitec’s System 2.0, the four pools in the stadionbad of Cologne made for a total of 320 meters of wake heaven.

In the superfinal, Keith Lidberg showed the best performance, winning in front of Germany’s Bernhard Hinterberger and Shawn Watson (USA). In the wakeskate divison of Red Bull Wake The Line, Jan Kissmann from Germany got first place.

Jan Kissmann had to make his way through the Warm-up session in Langenfeld where he got his wildcard spot. With his technical skills on the rails and massive spin tricks on the kicker showing a late backside 180 and a frontside 540, he was clearly the winner. Second place went to Leo Labadens from France and last year's winner Andy Kolb came third. The winner of the Nike 6.0 best trick award was Kevin Calvez (FRA).

The 2009 WWA Wake Park World Series (WPWS) dates and locations announced!

The World Wakeboard Association is proud to announce the dates and locations for the 2009 WWA Wake Park World Series (WPWS). This is the second year of the groundbreaking series brought to you by the WWA, with events at wake parks all across the globe. In 2009, the series will boast five events in separate countries across three continents.

The WWA has partnered with the biggest and most prestigious events in each region of the world, making the WWA Wake Park World Series (WPWS) the most legitimate international wake park series to date. With over $200,000 in total prize money for the series, riders will be battling it out all year long to become the overall WWA Wake Park World Series (WPWS) Champion.

FISE Wakeboard Contest!
